Triaging with DermDx: Study shows 99.3% sensitivity for detecting skin cancer

New research in Skin Health and Disease highlights strong outcomes for AI-assisted skin cancer diagnosis.

Working with MetaOptima, and Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, we evaluated 1,024 lesions across 946 patients by combining MetaOptima’s DermDx AI triage tool with Isla’s digital pathways.

The data showed:

– 99.3% sensitivity for detecting skin cancer, matching dermatologist detection rates in the cohort
– 26.7% potential reduction in face-to-face consultations, freeing up vital specialist time

Making clinical AI work in real, day-to-day NHS pathways is exactly why we built Isla.
