Our story

Built on clinical expertise and personal experience

Co-founders Peter Hansell and James Jurkiewicz launched Isla with deep backgrounds in healthcare transformation. Their mission was driven by personal experience navigating fragmented care for vulnerable family members. Seeing these system inefficiencies firsthand inspired them to replace manual hurdles with straightforward, automated solutions. Today, that same empathy fuels our goal: empowering clinical teams so that no patient or clinician is left struggling with a broken process.

Founded in London in 2019, Isla provides a digital pathway platform (DPP) designed to transform how clinical data moves through the NHS. By replacing fragmented care with connected, visible pathways, we help teams move faster and achieve more. We focus on automating routine admin, handling the heavy lifting so you can focus on complex decision-making. Our platform increases clinical capacity by streamlining workflows and freeing up valuable time for direct patient care.

Why are we called Isla?

In case you were wondering, we’re named after Pete’s Golden Retriever, Isla. As a former part of the Guide Dog training programme, Isla represents our commitment to helping others navigate complex paths with confidence. Just as a guide dog provides clarity and support, we’re here to be a trusted partner for clinical teams.
